A zero-emission battery vehicle service runs on the alternate track between Adhkuwari (from the Inderprastha area) and the Bhawan (Manokamna Bhawan area).

Who is it for?

According to the Shrine Board, the battery car is provided for infirm, sick and differently-abled devotees, and booking is subject to availability. It is especially useful for senior citizens who can manage the first stretch from Katra to Adhkuwari by pony, palki or on foot.

How to book

  • Online through the Shrine Board's official portal, for your Yatra date.
  • Availability is limited, so book as early as the portal allows.
  • Fares, booking windows and operating hours are set by the Shrine Board and change from time to time. Check the portal.

Good to know

  • Battery cars run only on the alternate track via Himkoti. That track has no ponies and a gentle gradient.
  • They may be suspended in bad weather or for maintenance.
  • For the climb from the Bhawan to Bhairon Temple, use the ropeway.
