Chenab Rail Bridge

A landmark railway arch high above the Chenab river in Reasi district, crossed by trains between Katra and the Kashmir valley.

The Chenab rail bridge carries the railway between Katra and Banihal across the deep gorge of the Chenab in Reasi district. It was opened on 6 June 2025 as part of the line linking Katra with the Kashmir valley.

According to official descriptions, the deck stands about 359 m above the river bed, and the steel arch spans 467 m.

The easiest way to experience the bridge is to ride the train between Katra and Srinagar.
